Mt. Longonot Schools offers the Kenyan 8-4-4 and new CBC systems of education as well as Early Childhood Development Education. We admit students who are slightly below 3 years and they join Busy Bees. This is a fun-filled somewhat informal learning set up that combines fun in developing basic skills in a child that young. Learning and skill acquisition is enhanced through play, interaction and manipulating child-friendly toys and materials. Intra-personal, interpersonal and social skills are developed at this level. The children also gets exposure to stimulating media including ICT, just to mention but a few. Age 3 join Busy Bees as we call it here, Age 4 are in PP1 while Age 5 are in PP2.
We are now compliant with the new curriculum that commences in 2018. Our Pre-school adopts both the national curriculum and integrates it with international Pre-school practices. We therefore have four levels for our Pre-school hence admiting Busy Bees for informal learning experiences under trained Early Childhood experts and appropriate resources.
Our Primary School runs from Grade 1 to Class 8 . We teach the regular 8-4-4 curriculum subjects namely: - Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Science, Social Studies and Christian Religious Education. In addition we offer these extra subjects to all our students:- French, Home Science, Art, Music, ICT, Swimming, Drama and Public Speaking,Ballet, Skating, Aerobics, Gymnastics and Golf. We will soon be a centre for ABRSM Examinations.
Our Staff are all trained in Education and in other relevant fields to facilitate competence and delivery. They comprise the very best locally and internationally in their areas of teaching.
The school gives all exercise books and all text books to all students.
